We wish all our families who attend Toddler Group a very Happy Easter and look forward to seeing you all again when we return on the 20th April 2016.

Decorated Egg Competition

With Easter on our doorstep, our creative children proudly presented their entries for this year's 'Decorated Egg Competition'. Without a doubt, the imagination and skill that the pupils demonstrate when creating these 'eggcellent' eggs is amazing. Congratulations to all of the pupils who entered.

On Wednesday excited children in Reception, Y1 and Y2 proudly paraded their beautiful Easter bonnets in our special 'catwalk assembly'. With fluffy chicks, decorated eggs and a whole host of imaginative Easter themed ideas, a rainbow of colour and creations was applauded. Well done to all the children for their imaginative bonnets!

Reception - Image editors

Wednesday 23 March 2016

Year 6 - Science Day!

Tuesday 22 March 2016

Whizz! Bang! Crash! On Friday 18th March Year 6 celebrated Science Day with a range of fun, educational and scientific activities. Chemical reactions were created and gases were formed. There was much excitement and healthy competition, as groups worked together to propel Lego cars using balloons. The teams all cooperated brilliantly, developing problem solving skills as well as perseverance, with the winning team's car travelling an impressive 1.24 metres.

Parachutes and spinners were used to investigate air resistance. All in all, our budding young chemists and physicists learnt a lot and had a great deal of fun.

Year 1 - Toys

Thursday 17 March 2016

Our topic this half term in Year 1 has been about 'Toys'. We have thoroughly enjoyed learning about different kinds of toys from the past to the present moment and what kind of materials they were made of. In our drama lessons Mr Terry showed us how different toys move. We enjoyed being a teddy, a robot, a jack in the box and a soldier. This was really fun!

Year 5 - Ocean Maths

Friday 11 March 2016

Year 5 children and parents had a fantastic morning in their Ocean Maths lesson on Thursday. They had fun investigating different ways to make a chicken run using their knowledge of area and perimeter.

The Firebird

Tuesday 8 March 2016

To celebrate Book Week the children enjoyed a week based on the story of 'The Firebird'. To kick-off the children watched a fantastic performance of 'The Firebird' by the Multi-Story Theatre Company. The next day the children had a visit from the Firebird, along with his golden apples and some children even found some golden feathers! Throughout the week the children engaged with different versions of the Russian Folk-Tale and their work was based on this theme. This was celebrated on Friday during a Show and Tell Assembly when children shared their beautiful stories, stunning artwork and Year 5 even treated us to a drama production. It was brilliant to see such enthusiasm from the children about their writing and stories!
