Year One Maths Day

Friday, 23 February 2018

During maths day, Year One were busy exploring the shape ‘triangles’. We linked this to our science topic of ‘food’ and computing lesson ‘We are TV chefs’. We spent a fun day making pizza (cut into triangles of course), making our own cheese and cress sandwiches (with cress we grew ourselves) and filming/producing our own cookery documentary!

Year One Assembly

Year One were proud to share their various learning experiences during their year group assembly this week. Please take time to watch them again in action as they explain what they have been learning about in literacy, maths, science, art and computing.

Thank you

Nursery - Maths stay and play

Wednesday, 21 February 2018

Thank you to all the parents that attended our Maths stay and play. We enjoyed showing you all the maths activities we take part in daily. The evaluation forms showed that 100% of parents enjoyed the session and would like the next stay and play to be on reading and writing. This will be the focus of our summer term stay and play.

Nursery- Health and Wellbeing week

Friday, 9 February 2018

It is health and wellbeing week this week. In Nursery we have been talking about keeping fit. In our hall time we were exercising and we have been doing yoga to stories. We felt much more relaxed after our yoga and have decided to do it every week in Nursery.

Year 3 enjoyed investigating the cube on Maths Day!

Thursday, 8 February 2018

Throughout the day, we explored the shape and it's properities by making them out of polydron, pipe cleaners, cardboard and straws. We then wrote riddles about cubes in Literacy to share with our friends.
After a busy morning of investigating the cube, we looked at art work from the 'Cubism' era and tried replicating the work of Picasso and Cezanne.
