Today at Hilldene Primary we bid a fond farewell to nine members of our fantastic team of staff. We are grateful to teachers Miss Klosek, Miss Bull, Miss Amoah, Mr Knapp, Miss Warren, Mrs Richards as well as saying thanks to support staff Mrs Tempest, Miss Cook, and Mrs Johnson for their hard work and support and their invaluable contribution to life at Hilldene. We wish all of them the best of luck for the future and thank them for everything they have each contributed to Hilldene Primary throughout their time they have each been here.











Nursery Graduation

Congratulations to all the Nursery children for a fantastic graduation. They sang beautifully and all spoke about what job they want to do when they grow up.

Year 4 Bastille Day

Last week year 4 celebrated 14th of July /Bastille Day - A French National Day when France celebrates and remembers the beginning of the French Revolution.

The children learnt some facts about the event and drew a rosette with the national flag of France and its colours.


Year 6 Leavers' Play

The Wizard of Oz


After a few weeks working tirelessly on rehearsals and memorising their lines, it was time for Year 6 to perform their brilliant version of the Wizard of Oz. The children put on a fantastic performance that would rival any West End show and deservedly earned the round of applause by their parents and guardians, as well as the teachers in attendance.

Enrichment Project Y5

This week Year 5 have had the opportunity to choose an enrichment area in which they could choose between Film Making, Cookery or Dance. This was a key opportunity for the children to deepen their understanding of a specific area and work collaboratively in skill based learning.










Year 5 - Macbeth

Year 5 have been rehearsing Macbeth over the past few weeks, we were able to explore our delivery of lines, expression and movement for purpose. We also had a special performance of the Three Little Pigs.

The lesson used collaborative learning, helped the children to memorise their lines for the performance and also helped with confidence building.

Pirates and Princesses Day

Nursery had lots of fun during our pirates and princesses day on Friday. We had a visit from the Freshwater theatre company where we followed pirate clues to make up a pirate stories. Belle visited us to help play pass the parcel and other games and we finished with all the parents joining us for a picnic in the Nursery garden.
