Summer Reading Challenge

Tuesday, 17 July 2018

As the year comes to an end, please bear in mind that children can take part in the summer reading challenge which takes place in all libraries across the borough. The challenge is to read and review 6 books throughout the long holidays. Your child needs to have a library card which can be easily obtained directly from the library. There are various gifts given to the children as they make their way through the challenge. If they manage to complete it, they will be presented with a gold medal and certificate in assembly during October.

Nursery - Pirates and Princess day

Thursday, 12 July 2018

The Nursery was full of pirates and princesses today. We had an action packed morning which included a pirate entertainer with lots of games including walking the plank, searching for treasure and pass the skeleton. Back in Nursery we had a special visit from Princess Belle who taught us a dance and sang to us. Then we climbed the pirate ship and sang some pirate songs.

Shiver me timbers! A pirates (and princesses) life for us !

World Cup Day – 12th July 2018

For your information, this day will be a non-uniform day and we are inviting all pupils to come to school wearing the colours of the team they have been following and learning about in school. Please see your child’s class teacher for team colours.

Alternatively, if your child owns a football kit of any kind, they are invited to come to school wearing a football kit.

This day is a celebration of the World Cup and will also celebrate our nation’s achievement in the 2018 tournament.

Please be aware that the children must wear appropriate footwear to school; no flip flops or sliders. Shoulders must be covered; no strappy or off the shoulder tops and no hair spray or face paint is permitted on this occasion.

We look forward to an exciting day.

Summer Fun 2018

The Summer holidays are fast approching, and while it is nice to spend time with our children, it can be stressful and costly for families to keep the children entertained. To help families Havering Council has produced a guide listing activities for children which are low cost or even free around Havering. Here is a link to the guide of children’s activities for the summer holidays. This text only guide is a summary of the great events and activities going on around the borough, including:

Fairkytes Arts Centre, Hornchurch
Myplace Centre, Harold Hill
10 Havering Libraries
Havering Sports Development
Havering Music School
Havering Parks
Children’s Centres
