Friday, 12 October 2018

Well done to all of the children who completed the reading challenge during the long summer holiday. Medals and certificates were awarded during celebration assembly this morning. The number of children from our school that completed the challenge this year has doubled in comparison to last year. Hopefully there will be even more next summer. Congratulations to everyone.

Reception - Vegetable soup

This week we have been reading the story "Oliver's vegetables"
We made vegetable soup.
First we chopped the vegetables carefully.
Then we put them into the soup maker with some water.
The soup maker took 21 minutes.
Next we let the soup cool down.
Finally we tasted it. Delicious!

TikTok guide for Parents & Carers

Wednesday, 10 October 2018

As part of NationOnlineSafety.com's #WakeUpWednesday campaign, they have created a free updated TikTok (formerly Musical.ly) guide for parents & carers to share with the whole school community!

TikTok is a global video community where users create, share and discover ‘funny and memorable moments’ via short video clips – typically about 15 seconds long. Currently one of the world’s most popular apps, TikTok was formerly known as Musical.ly, before it was rebranded by the Chinese company that acquired it in November 2017. This free guide for parents & carers covers what they need to know about the platform to help safeguard their children from potential online risks including; dangerous trends & challenges, oversharing, online payments, inappropriate content and more.  https://t.co/9Io6W9BA8y

Tuesday, 9 October 2018

Since Veggie Run and HES Catering services created a first of its kind partnership in England with the West Ham United Foundation to deliver their Healthy Hammers six-week programme to 2400 pupils in Havering. The innovative new app has two new exceptional players on the leader board. Adrián and Arthur Masuaku both from West Ham United have had a chance to play the updated version of Veggie Run.

After avidly playing the game and seeing the benefits for children in Havering, Arthur Masuaku, Defender for West Ham United, placed his score and challenged pupils “Is your score on the leader board?” with fellow player Adrián, Goalkeeper for West Ham United, adding “Game On”

To officially launch this exciting collaboration, 10 lucky primary or junior school pupils can win a chance to visit the West Ham stadium on the 7 November. Pupils will also receive a free West Ham home football kit printed with a Veggie Run character, shin pads, and a full stadium tour. All pupils need to do, is eat a healthy school catered meal until 19 October to be in with a chance of winning a place.
