Year 3 - Do plants need leaves to grow?

Tuesday 28 April 2015

This was the question posed to inquisitive children in year 3 last week at the onset of their studies of the 7 life processes. In order for the budding scientists to test their predictions, they have planted 2 identical flowering plants and then removed the leaves from one of them. Having measured the height of both of the plants first, the children will continue to measure them for the next 4 weeks and record their results inorder to be able to answer the question. With the majority of the happy horticulturists predicting that the plant with leaves will grow taller than the one without...the children and staff are keenly watching the progress of the plants!

Watch this space for the results!
