Year 1 had a
very enjoyable day learning about Germany for European Day of Languages on
Friday. The children found out facts about the country, created imaginary
postcards, coloured the German flag and learnt a little of the language.
However, the most favoured activity was tasting German pretzels!

Year 4 Art
In year four yesterday we became artists!
We are making habitat pictures in the style of Henri Rousseau who painted
images of animals nestled in their habitats. We selected the materials, habitat
and animal we wanted to re-create. We have started by creating a
background that we will then stick our animal and foreground on top of. They will be completed on Friday when we will be able to show you them on
here....stay tuned!

Who can resist cakes and coffee on a Friday? Tasty treats
were on sale in the staffroom at Hilldene Primary today as generous staff
donated cakes inorder to raise money for
Macmillan's biggest fundraising event. A range of delicious homemade delights (which would make even Paul Hollywood
smile) were available to buy, with the proceeds going to a very worthy
cause.
Thank you to the staff for organising the event and to
everyone for their generosity and support.

Marvellous Meal Times!
Congratulations to everyone involved in making the new lunchtime systems a success!
As you are
probably aware, from this month, all Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils are
entitled to a FREE hot school meal. This has resulted in an increase in the
number of pupils opting for a cooked meal at lunchtime. Despite the increase,
Havering Catering Services continue to provide nutritious, tasty meals for the
children to enjoy....GOLD Food for Life.
Thank you to all the staff who have contributed to making
lunchtime run so smoothly and to the children for their fantastic behaviour!
If you are entitled to a Free School meal already, please
still apply as the school needs funds linked to your application (Pupil Premium
Grant).
