Golden Book Winners

Every week, teachers identify 2 outstanding pupils in their class who have had a fantastic week either academically or socially or both! These pupils are entered into the Golden Book and are announced during our Friday morning celebration assembly. Our fabulous winners in the infants receive a
certificate in assembly and parents of the 'golden' children in the juniors receive a letter home, informing parents of their child's fantastic achievement.

Bikeability Training

On Monday and Tuesday this week 3 of our Year 5 children were given some extra Bikeability training during a course provided by Cycle Confident to train teachers to deliver Bikeability workshops within their own schools, including our own Mr White. As you can see from the photos, the children had a great time as well as making lots of progress towards completing their Level 1 training.

A huge thank you to everyone that voted for our entry in the Golden Gate Bridge Quick Build last week.
Harley's entry has come in third place out of the top twenty so all those votes helped!
Hilldene is now ranked 18th out of 168 schools that participate in the Minecraft Clubs with
We're very proud of this achievement and look forward to some more exciting building tasks after half term!

Summer Reading Challenge

Well done to all of the children who completed the reading challenge during the long summer holiday. Medals and certificates were awarded during celebration assembly this morning. The number of children from our school that completed the challenge this year has doubled in comparison to last year. Hopefully there will be even more next summer. Congratulations to everyone.

Reception - Vegetable soup

This week we have been reading the story "Oliver's vegetables"
We made vegetable soup.
First we chopped the vegetables carefully.
Then we put them into the soup maker with some water.
The soup maker took 21 minutes.
Next we let the soup cool down.
Finally we tasted it. Delicious!

Currently one of the world’s most popular apps, TikTok was formerly known as, before it was rebranded by the Chinese company that acquired it in November 2017. This free guide for parents & carers covers what they need to know about the platform to help safeguard their children from potential online risks including; dangerous trends & challenges, oversharing, online payments, inappropriate content and more.
