This
week pupils at Hilldene Primary School were very lucky to receive a visit
from the Quantum Theatre group, with their amazing show, Captain
Grammaticus. Lots of educational fun was had by all and plenty of learning too!
With many different characters to entertain the excited pupils (and adults),
the show was punctuated with plenty of interaction which aided
understanding of how to use grammar correctly. A fun filled, educational
afternoon was had by all.

National Libraries Day
It's National Libraries Day on 7th February-a time to celebrate Libraries and the vital role they play in the community. As part of the celebrations children were invited to create new book covers for their favourite books, the results are displayed in all of the Havering Public Libraries. Our children contributed to the display at Hilldene Library. If you can why not pop into the Library and take a look, the display will be in place for at least a month.

Year 4 children and grown-ups had a great morning taking
part in the ocean maths workshop. Everyone enjoyed playing a multiplication
3-in-a-row game and some of the children even beat the adults! The year 4 staff
would like to thank everyone that took part.
Read around
Year 4 and Reception had a lovely time sharing books and
reading with each other. All the children were very well behaved and loved

Year 2 had a fantastic day exercising and dancing to their favourite
5-a-day routines. Each class were lucky to have an hour with Carly (from5-a-day) demonstrating how to get the most from exercise. After a
lot of running, jumping, balancing and throwing, the exhausted athletes were
ready to unwind to a relaxing 5-a-day cool down.
Well done Year 2 on a
great day!

sang beautifully and especially enjoyed an encore of 'Teddy Bear Rock'. Well done Year 1!

their favourite books with their parents and friends.
