Christmas Jumper Day

Last Friday was a day of festive fun here at Hilldene. We are pleased to announce that Christmas Jumper Day raised £278 for the 'Save the Children' charity which I'm sure you will agree is a very worthy cause.

At lunchtime the Christmas dinner proved to be a roaring success and was enjoyed by all. Finally, we had our Christmas discos after school. There was a great turn out by all and the dance floor was full all evening.

Weekly Golden Book Winners

Every week, teachers identify 2 outstanding pupils in their class who have had a fantastic week either academically or socially or both! These pupils are entered into the Golden Book and are announced during our Friday morning celebration assembly. Our fabulous winners in the infants receive a certificate in assembly and parents of the 'golden' children in the juniors receive a letter home, informing parents of their child's fantastic achievement.

End of Term assembly

There was a fitting end to the term as all pupils and staff from Nursery to Year 6 came together to listen to the story of 'Jesus' Christmas Party', by Nicholas Allan. We had some very special guest stars performing the story and some impromtu dancing from the EYFS pupils to complete the assembly!

Boo! Hiss! He's behind you!
Our KS2 pupils had a fantastic morning of fun, watching their annual pantomime. This year, the children watched Dick Whittington and his cat, Elvis! Great fun was had by all, and the children were a fantastic audience.
What a great end to the term!

Year 5 & 6 Christmas Performance

It's that time of year again, when the "Halls are decked with bows of holly!" and people are "Rocking around the Christmas tree!" Hilldene Primary School opened it's doors once more, this time for the Year 5 and 6 Christmas Carol Concert from around the World. There was singing, dancing and a whole wealth of information of different Christmas traditions. The children were exemplary and gave it their all. In short another successful venture which the parents and visitors seemed to enjoy.

AMAZING ATTENDANCE!

As part of our continuing drive to improve attendance at Hilldene we recently initiated a reward scheme for whole class attendance. Every day when a class has full attendance they mark off a letter from the phrase ‘Amazing Attendance’ and once all the letters have been marked off they receive their reward.

We are pleased to announce the first class to complete this task was 4H and they will be choosing their reward tomorrow.

Upminster Academies Trust Admissions Consultation

Upminster Academies Trust t/a Upminster Infant School and Upminster Junior School are consulting on changes to the siblings criterion in their admissions arrangements.
