Today we held a special 'Leavers Lunch' for Year 6 pupils who are leaving us for pastures new. There were many empty plates from a choice of burger or pizza followed by the old classic - Arctic Roll which was gratefully received on the hottest day of the year.
We hope you enjoyed it Year 6! 1 more day to go!

The School Councillors of Hilldene Primary certainly proved this on Friday when they met with the School Governors and parents to inform them of the work they had completed over the year. The pupils led a presentation explaining their main achievements over the year ranging from volunteering at the food bank to an anti-bullying march. We thank all of our school council representatives for their tireless work and dedication to the school and we look forward to meeting the new School Councillors in September.

It has been a very busy couple of weeks with the 'Hilldene Carnival' and 'Sports Days' and Friday was no exception as we held the 'Hilldene Primary Summer Fete'. It was the first time that the school had hosted a summer fete for a number of years and it didn't disappoint. There was a variety of stalls, games and entertainment to keep everyone amused including a bouncy castle, variety of refreshments, 'Soak the teacher' plus a visit from the local police force and fire brigade. The field was jam packed with our school community who thoroughly enjoyed themselves in the summer sun. A big thank you to all who came along and a special thank you to all the parents, teachers and volunteers for helping out and making the fete such a great success.

On Thursday, 8 eager spellers from Year 2 and Year 5 travelled to Drapers to take part in the annual Harold Hill Spelling Bee. All children stood bravely amongst 8 other schools and tackled the challenging spellings confidently.
Well done to all the children that took part!
