Golden Book Winners

Every week, teachers identify 2 outstanding pupils in their class who have had a fantastic week either academically or socially or both! These pupils are entered into the Golden Book and are announced during our Friday morning celebration assembly. Our fabulous winners in the infants receive a
certificate in assembly and parents of the 'golden' children in the juniors receive a letter home, informing parents of their child's fantastic achievement.

Year 1 - Basket Ball PE

Today 1M and 1D enjoyed their first lesson learning to play basketball with Mr Norris. New skills such as ‘dribbling’ and controlling the ball were introduced. 1C are looking forward to their lesson next.

Hilldene Toddler Group

Our Toddler Group reopens its doors on Wednesday 26th September and welcomes all parents with their young ones (aged 0-4 years) for a morning of play, songs and snacks. The fun begins at 9.00am and continues until 11.00 am. We look forward to seeing you!

Reception stay for lunch

The Reception children have enjoyed staying for packed lunch this week. They have been talking about what is in their lunch box and after eating have played in the playground with children from Year 1 and 2.
There were some very healthy lunchboxes included pasta with chicken and vegetables, fruit, rice with vegetables and wraps.

Minecraft Club

Hilldene Minecraft Club started this week and our topic this half term is America.
Our Quick Build was to build an American Footballer and the winner chosen this week was Jak!

If his build gets chosen to go into the interschool competition we'll keep you posted and you can vote for him! We're looking forward to doing lots more American-themed builds in the coming weeks!

Year 2 - Communication

Year 2 have been learning about past and present methods of communication. We have had lots of fun making our own telephones!

Year 1 - Read Together

Thank you to all those parents who were able to attend our first “Read Together” morning this morning. It was lovely to see so many of you and look forward to seeing you again next week!

First day in Reception

Reception have had a fantastic first day. The children came in with big smiles ready to learn and were enthusiastic to return today. We even started learning our Read Write Inc sounds!
