Goodbye and Good luck!

Wednesday, 24 July 2019

As the end of term is upon us, sadly we say goodbye to some members of the staff team. We are very grateful to Miss Smyth, Mrs Norris, Mrs Prior, and Miss Woodbridge, for all their hard work and support. They will all be missed! We also say goodbye to Mrs Gillard as she goes on maternity leave.

Thank you to all of our families for all your kind words, best wishes and gifts - your support throughout the year is genuinely appreciated.

We hope the sun continues to shine and you enjoy a relaxing holiday!

We look forward to seeing you all in September.

Nursery - Graduation 2019

Congratulations to all the Nursery children for a fantastic graduation. They sang beautifully and all spoke about what job they want to do when they grow up.

Well done Nursery!

Year 1 visit Saint Dominic’s Church

Tuesday, 23 July 2019

Year 1 throughly enjoyed their visit to Saint Dominic’s church as part of their RE curriculum ‘Places of worship’. Father Joesph took time out of his busy day to show us around and explain parts of the Catholic beliefs to us.

RD’s Amazing Attendance

Monday, 22 July 2019

RD celebrated filling up all the letters on their amazing attendance sheet this Friday by eating ice lollies and dancing to music.  The children were very excited to achieve this before the end of the year and enjoyed the party in their honour.

Year 5 Bikeability Level 2 Training

Thursday, 18 July 2019

After two days of honing their cycling skills on the playground at school, our intrepid cyclists were ready for their Level 2 training. Many of the drills included turning into and out of side roads (known as Minor roads) and main roads (known as Major Roads) with the children given several opportunities to practice each activity and then discuss their progress with the instructors – one of whom you may well recognise...

Here are some ‘action’ shots of the children as they successfully completed their Level 2 training. As you can see from the pictures, the children really had to listen and focus in order to demonstrate their ability to ride safely on the roads – a fantastic effort!

Year 5 Bikeability Training Level 1

During the first week in July, some of our Year 5s signed up for Bikeability training.
Among the things they were taught for their Level 1 training were:

  • Basic bike maintenance, including the ABCD check where A is for Air (in your tyres), B is for Brakes, C is for the Chain and D is for Direction (see if you can spot which check each of the children are completing in the photographs below)
  • Sharing space with other riders, including riding in a ‘snake’ as a group

Once they had completed all the necessary outcomes for their Level 1 training, they were ready to ‘Hit the Road’ for their Level 2 training. See how they got on in the next Bikeability newsfeed item...
