Every week, teachers identify 2 outstanding pupils in their class who have had a fantastic week either academically or socially or both! These pupils are entered into the Golden Book and are announced during our Friday morning celebration assembly. Our fabulous winners in the infants receive a certificate in assembly and parents of the 'golden' children in the juniors receive a letter home, informing parents of their child's fantastic achievement.

Year 1 - Read together morning

Year One Team

Year 1 - First Week

Wow what an exciting first week in Year One! Lots of learning has taken place as we revisited our Literacy and Mathematics skills. We also had our first formal P.E lesson with Mr Norris and Mr Ferguson. Look how smart we all look in our PE kits.

Roald Dahl week

Roald Dahl week is in full swing at Hilldene this week with lots of exciting learning oppurtunities for the children. The children are celebratng his 100th birthday by looking at their favourite Roald Dahl books.

The children have also been thinking about their dreams and hopes for the year and popping them into BFG inspired 'dream jars'.

We look forward to seeing what the children produce in our celebration assembly at the end of the week!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to what promises to be a busy autumn term full of exciting new learning opportunities. It has been fantastic to welcome back all the children, looking so smart and full of enthusiasm as they begin the next step in their learning journey.

As with every term we have an actioned packed calendar of events planned throughout the term and we will endeavour to keep you up to date on events through our regular blogs, newsletters and newsfeeds.

We would like to warmly welcome our new team members: Miss Warren, Miss Franklin, Miss Quince, Mr Hardy, Miss Dawkins, Miss Smyth and Miss Clark, who are all equally excited to be working with your children in our Hilldene community.

Start of the New School Year

We hope you have had a restful break this summer and we are looking forward to the new term ahead. School will reopen again for Year 1-6 on Wednesday 7th September 2016. Please be reminded there are now three main entrances to the school as the field gate is no longer open. See you on Wednesday.
