We hope you had an enjoyable Easter and that your children's batteries have been recharged ready for the jam-packed calendar of events that we have planned for the summer term.

With the sun smiling down on us for the majority of the week, all the children (and staff) have settled back into school life with ease. Attendance at school is extremely important for the children's progress and attainment and we look forward to increasing numbers of children achieving over 95% attendance this term. We really appreciate your support with this.

With the summer term hopefully bringing with it summer weather, please remember to provide your child with a water bottle and sun cream when necessary.

Year 3 - Gymnastics

On Wednesday, excited pupils in Year 3 had our first gymnastics lesson with Miss West (Premier Sports Coach). We really enjoyed the tasks and had to evaluate our lesson at the end. We learnt about different balances and how long to hold them for. We also had the opportunity to show our balances on the climbing frame, where we held a position for as long as we could. The longest time was 20 seconds, held by Harry...well done! At the end of the lesson, we all evaluated our performances using the chart given to us by Miss West. We gave examples of something we found tricky, a creative piece, where we used team work, group work, invented something new and trying new ideas.

We can't wait for our next lesson 😀

As the spring term draws to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents and carers for their continued support this term. We are all incredibly proud of our pupils and the progress they are making.

A Fond Farewell

Today at Hilldene Primary we bid a fond farewell to three members of our fantastic team of staff. We are grateful to Miss Driver, Mrs Kemp and Mr Jones for their continued hard work and support and their invaluable contribution to life at Hilldene. I am sure you will join me in wishing them all the very best of luck in their future endeavours.

Toddler Group's Easter Parade

This week the children and their families at Toddler Group celebrated Easter. After having great fun making beautiful bonnets and baskets for the Easter Parade, a special visit was paid by the Easter Bunny and Easter Elf ,who gave out special chocolate eggs to everyone...causing great eggcitement!

We wish all our families who attend Toddler Group a very Happy Easter and look forward to seeing you all again when we return on the 20th April 2016.

Decorated Egg Competition

With Easter on our doorstep, our creative children proudly presented their entries for this year's 'Decorated Egg Competition'. Without a doubt, the imagination and skill that the pupils demonstrate when creating these 'eggcellent' eggs is amazing. Congratulations to all of the pupils who entered.
