Thursday, 25 January 2018
This week, Reception have been planting beans and trying to grow their own beanstalk. We talked about the importance of watering our seeds, and putting them somewhere where there is lots of light. We wonder how big they will grow?

Reception Update for the week ending 19th January:
We
have been very busy in Reception combining our computing skills with our
writing. The children used the iPads to scan the QR codes in the area,
which showed them a picture from Jack and the Beanstalk, a story we have
enjoyed reading. They then recorded on their sheet where they had found
the picture.
The
children were very excited to find all 9 pictures and used their phonics skills
to sound out the words when writing.
Bike Polo Training Day 3
Our final training session with Emmett - how fantastic for us all to be coached by a current world champion bike polo rider! The improvement in everyone’s bike handling skills was clearly evident during this session. Lots more opportunities for playing games and managing to score goals against Mr White! All in all, it’s been a brilliant 3 days and we look forward to bike polo club starting up after school in the next couple of weeks.

“Today we were really excited because Mrs McKinnon took us to see Mrs Delmonte in her office. It wasn’t because we were naughty, it was because Mrs McKinnon was so proud of us. We had worked so hard sequencing the story of The Gigantic Turnip and writing it with adjectives and conjunctions. We read our stories to Mrs Delmonte. She was so happy and proud that she gave us her special stickers. The sticker says ‘ Mrs Delmonte says well done! Hilldene Primary school.”
