Year 4 Visit Vue Cinema

Thursday, 9 October 2014

Year 4 went to the Vue cinema in Romford today to watch the BBC 'Ten Pieces' film.  Ten Pieces aims to open up the world of classical music to children – and inspire them to develop their own creative responses to the pieces through music, dance and art. Five BBC Orchestras and the BBC Singers are involved, as well as celebrities such as Barney Harwood from Blue Peter. We had a really good time and can't wait to start composing.  We hope the whole school can get involved in this music project and will begin making our own creative responses soon....

Hilldene Reading Buddies!

Wednesday, 8 October 2014

Children who have been chosen to be reading buddies this year were awarded their badges in assembly this week. Reading with younger children will enable them to learn from each other and help them meet their reading targets. Buddy duties are carried out at least twice a week and all the Buddies have regular training sessions with Miss Rogers.

We hope that all the children involved enjoy their sessions and benefit from them.
