Despite the inclement weather, many parents turned up to
see Year 6 share what they have been learning this half term. This included a
poetry recital, top tips on helping them with their maths, important SATs
information, listening to examples of their written work as well as watching
videos of their High School Musical dance routines. Wow we have been busy! What
will the next half term bring?

Year 4 have been reading a book called Wolves by Emily
Gravett. The story ends suddenly with the rabbit disappearing. The children
have become police officers and news reporters this week to help solve the
mystery. They looked at evidence, studied a crime scene and had a chance to
interview the main suspect. They all had great fun during this activity and
they are looking forward to writing their own newspaper reports about the
crime!

Year

America two thousand years ago. Weaving was a very important part of their

Year 4 went to the Vue cinema in Romford today
to watch the BBC 'Ten Pieces' film. Ten Pieces aims to open up the world
of classical music to children – and inspire them to develop their own creative
responses to the pieces through music, dance and art. Five BBC Orchestras and
the BBC Singers are involved, as well as celebrities such as Barney Harwood
from Blue Peter. We had a really good time and can't wait to start composing.
We hope the whole school can get involved in this music project and will
begin making our own creative responses soon....

Children who have been chosen to be reading buddies this year were awarded their badges in assembly this week. Reading with younger children will enable them to learn from each other and help them meet their reading targets. Buddy duties are carried out at least twice a week and all the Buddies have regular training sessions with Miss Rogers.
We hope that all the children involved enjoy their sessions and benefit from them.
