Weekly Golden Book Winners

Friday, 18 December 2015

Every week, teachers identify 2 outstanding pupils in their class who have had a fantastic week either academically or socially or both! These pupils are entered into the Golden Book and are announced during our Friday morning celebration assembly. Our fabulous winners in the infants receive a certificate in assembly and parents of the 'golden' children in the juniors receive a letter home, informing parents of their child's fantastic achievement.

Merry Christmas from Hilldene

Thank you to all our amazing pupils and their families for a fantastic autumn term.

We are very proud to inform you that attendance has been above 95% every week of the term...a fantastic achievement - well done! Thank you for sending your children to school everyday!

Thank you also for all your festive wishes and kind gifts. Your generosity is overwhelming.

All the staff at Hilldene, sincerely wish you all a peaceful Christmas and a very Happy New Year and look forward to welcoming you back on January 4th 2016.

Christmas at Hilldene

Huge congratulations to all the children who have taken part in Hilldene's Christmas concerts over the past few weeks. From Nursery to Year 6, all the children performed beautifully. With great pride and confidence, the children enthusiastically  entertained special guests - the Mayor, Mayoress and Deputy Mayor and her Consort (one at each of the performances) as well as all their families and friends.

The youngest members of our school community, the Nursery  and Reception children, hosted a festive nativity sing a long for their parents and carers, using technology creatively to retell the nativity.

Children in Years 1 and 2 thoroughly enjoyed performing their Christmas Concert - 'Prickly Hay' to their families. With a stable hoe down, singing and dancing, the audiences were completely thrilled by the production.

Children in Years 3 and 4 found themselves in a courtroom in the middle of Bethlehem for their production of 'Straw and Order'. With bickering innkeepers, self-important wise men, cool shepherds, some dancing sheep and a spectacular angel choir, peace and love overruled!

An amazing carol concert from children in Years 5 and 6 finally brought the house down with their search for the colour of Christmas. With soulful singing, dynamic dancing, beautifully clear narration and talented flautists, the rousing performance was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Thank you to all the staff (who have worked incredibly hard on scripts, costumes, backdrops, technology, props and production) for their unwavering determination and patience and to the parents for your fantastic support, which is greatly appreciated!

Finally, an enormous 'Well done!' to all the fantastic children...we are very proud of you!
