On Tuesday, the school council members from each of the
schools in the Harold Hill cluster, worked together to make a change in the
community.
On the day, each school was assigned a job to carry out
which included; making a care box for the local women's refuge, visiting a
local care home and being a part of the food bank's daily routine. These are
just some of the ways in which the children learnt how they could make a difference.
Hilldene had the rewarding job of visiting the local food
bank to sort all the food that had been donated by us!
The total weight of the food we donated weighed 400kg! So
thank you to all of you for your generous donations, it was greatly received by
the food bank.
The children behaved in a respectful manner towards all
of the adults we met and thoroughly enjoyed the day. We learnt that 'all
successful teams are greater than the sum of their individual parts.' We can achieve even more when we all act
together. How can you make a difference in your community?
