Eagerly, despite the rain, the year one children set off on their trip to The London Transport Museum. After a long journey in rush hour traffic, they were greeted by a bustling Covent Garden. Once inside the museum, the children got to explore three floors of varying transport through the ages. Everything from the first trains, trams and buses were on show and the children thoroughly enjoyed imagining they were children of years gone by.
A schools workshop 'Build a Bus' taught children about buses through the ages such as the Omnibus, B-Type Bus and Routemaster as we know today.
They also got a chance to explore the role play section of the museum, 'All Aboard'. This allowed them to imagine themselves as transport workers which they enjoyed.
All in all, a hugely successful school trip and somewhere we will definitely be visiting again.
