A special Remembrance Assembly was held on Friday morning to commemorate Armistice day, particularly remembering those in our own community who have suffered loss. Poppy wreaths, which were made by the pupils, were laid whilst the pupils sang a memorial song and kept those people affected by war in their thoughts. The moving poem, In Flanders Field was read beautifully by Charlotte followed by Cerys and Ellie eloquently sharing their own poem of remembrance:
A Poem of Remembrance
Remember...Remember!
on the 11th of November
those who fought for our country.
They battled and battled
and those who fought
we shall remember at 11 with silence.
Poppies grew where they fell.
We wear them now to appreciate them well.
Those who fell we will never forget,
in our memory they will live forever.
