Every week, teachers identify 2 outstanding pupils in their class who have had a fantastic week either academically or socially or both! These pupils are entered into the Golden Book and are announced during our Friday morning celebration assembly. Our fabulous winners in the infants receive a certificate in assembly and parents of the 'golden' children in the juniors receive a letter home, informing parents of their child's fantastic achievement.

Nursery - Chinese New Year

We have had a fantastic week celebrating Chinese New Year. We have tasted a variety of Chinese food using chopsticks: noodles, prawn crackers and fortune cookies.

We made an enormous Chinese dragon out of boxes and paraded around the school with musical instruments wishing everyone a Happy New Year.

Reception - People Who Help Us

For our topic this half term 'People Who Help Us', PC Wayne came to visit us. We asked lots of questions because we wanted to know more about his job. He showed us different kinds of hats that police officers might wear when patrolling the streets, football games, airport and many more places.

Reception - Chinese New Year

Last weekend many people across the world celebrated Chinese New Year...the year of the Rooster. The children were really excited to know what year they were born in, with some born in the year of the rabbit and in the year of the dragon. After telling the children the history Chinese New Year, they were really excited to make some spring rolls. Whilst eating, the children commented that the spring rolls were extremely crunchy and delicious.

Reception - PE

In PE lessons, children in Reception have been learning how to move in different ways. Last week they were in a rainforest moving like monkeys, snakes and parrots. The enthusiast pupils in RKD were so excited that they wanted to create movements of mystical sea creatures in the depths of a dark ocean in the next PE session with Mr Norris. They all thoroughly enjoyed moving through the ocean and using the all the equipment to aid their travel. With sharks, dolphins, turtles and sea horses the ocean was full of activity!
