School trips virtually anywhere…bringing lessons to life!

Friday 20 January 2017

Imagine exploring coral reefs or the surface of Mars in an afternoon. Our children have been doing just that this week with the amazing technology of Google Expeditions.

With Google Expeditions, pupils can take school trips right from their classroom. It allows teachers acting as a “guides” to lead classroom-sized groups of “explorers” through collections of 360° and 3D images while pointing out interesting sights along the way.
Our immersive, virtual journeys this week have included; the depths of oceans, the Great Wall of China, Antarctica and San Diego Zoo.

With such excitement and positivity from children and staff alike, we look forward to using this new technology in the future to enhance the children’s learning experiences here at Hilldene.
