To celebrate spring, Art Club has been creating 3D models of daffodils using plasticine. I'm sure you will agree our 'budding' artists are 'blooming'!

Miles the Mole visits Year 6
This week, year 6 were visited by a theatre group, led by Miles the Mole. He told us all about air pollution, its main causes and how to reduce it. The play was entertaining and informative, as well as being interactive. We are all more aware of the benefits of walking and the importance of trees to our local environment.
We really enjoyed it and learnt a lot too.

Happy Holidays!
As the spring term draws to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents and carers for their continued support this term. We are all incredibly proud of our pupils and the progress they are making.
We wish you all a relaxing holiday and look forward to seeing you all when school reopens for the summer term on Tuesday 18th April.
2017 Infant Music Festival
Pupils in Year 2 had an amazing time on Tuesday taking part in the Havering Music Festival with five other schools from Harold Hill.
Hilldene pupils beautifully performed a collection of songs with the theme 'Space' together with pupils from Mead, Draper's Brookside Infants, Broadford, St. Ursula's Infants and Draper's Pyrgo Primary schools. All the schools thoroughly enjoyed singing together and performing their own songs. A big thank you to Mrs Wheeler for helping Year 2 pupils prepare and perform so wonderfully!
Decorated Egg Competition
With Easter on our doorstep, our creative children proudly presented their entries for this year's 'Decorated Egg Competition'. Without a doubt, the imagination and skill that the pupils demonstrate when creating these 'eggcellent' eggs is amazing. Congratulations to all of the pupils who entered.

Harold Hill Year 6 Maths league
On Tuesday 21st of March 4 of our Hilldene children attended the second session of the Harold Hill year 6 Maths league at Pyrgo . Five local schools send a team of children to compete against each other in a maths quiz, which consists of 20 gruelling questions that need to be completed in a dazzling 40 minutes. The pressure was on as Hilldene won the first round back in the Autumn term and we wanted to continue our winning streak. Thankfully our maths stars shone through and managed to win once again. With 2 rounds remaining Hilldene are sitting pretty at the top of the league and are striving to stay there, always striving to be better. Well done Hilldene.
