What happens to food once it is swallowed?

Monday, 6 March 2017

Last week, pupils in Year 4 experienced life in the medical profession as they learnt how food travels through the digestive system (although they referred to it differently!) Using mashed up food, scissors, tights, a plastic bag and a bowl, they learned about the journey that food they chew in their mouths takes and where it ends!

The photographs clearly demonstrate how the budding scientists reacted in different ways; however, whether they were squeamish or indifferent, all the children now have a better understanding of the digestive system. Well done Year 4!
