Did you know that pan pipes can be made simply from straws and Sellotape?
In science this week, pupils in Year 4 made their own set of pan pipes using straws and Sellotape. By cutting the straws to different lengths, the budding scientists investigated if the length of the straw changed the pitch of the notes. From their results the pupils concluded that the longer straws made lower pitched notes and the shorter straws made higher pitched notes!
