Hilldene Remembers

Friday, 9 November 2018

A special Remembrance Assembly was held on Friday morning to commemorate Armistice day, particularly remembering those in our own community who have suffered loss. Poppy wreaths, which were made by the pupils, were laid whilst the pupils sang a memorial song . The moving poem, Dulce et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen was performed beautifully by pupils in Year 6 and we heard the significance of purple poppies in recognising the many animals whose lives have also been lost during war.
