Staff and pupils wished each other 'top of the morning' on Monday 17th March, as Hilldene Primary School celebrated St Patrick’s Day with an assembly of Irish music and dance! With the rare treat of performances of Irish tunes, expertly played on the button accordion, Irish flute and tin whistles, everyone clapped along enthusiastically...enjoying the craich! Incredibly, the entertainment was provided by talented musicians,aged from 6-16 years! Dancers energetically accompanied the music demonstrating traditional Irish dances. Finally, Hilldene's own dance club performed their own dance tribute to the Apostle of Ireland...Saint Patrick. Thank you to Miss Sloan for bringing the visitors to school, organising the performance and for entertaining everyone with her musical talents!
May the Irish hills caress you;
may her lakes and rivers bless you;
may the luck of the Irish enfold you;
may the blessings of Saint Patrick, behold you.
