Hilldene World Cup!

Tuesday 8 July 2014

There was a carnival feeling on the field on Friday when all the children sported their football kits to compete in the Hilldene World cup. With shin pads in place, each year group competed in teams of 8 against each other hoping to raise the trophy at the end of the day. The budding soccer stars battled bravely putting the likes of Neymar, Messi and Van Persie to shame. Finally, cheers errupted as final games were played and the winners announced. True to form, England didn't feature in the winning line up!

Year 1 Holland 1M

Year 2 Brazil 2H

Year 3 Germany 3P

Year 4 USA 4F

Year 5 Brazil 5J

Year 6 France

Time-keeping teachers...Proud parents...Positive pupils and red-faced referees all contributed to make the day a resounding success. Thank you to everyone for taking part, the fabulous referees and to Miss Choudhury and the PE team for organising a fantastic festival of football which provided the opportunity for all the pupils to shine! An appropriate ending to an action packed, Brazil themed week!
