Year 1 - Trip to Southend

Monday, 15 June 2015

Despite a cold and windy summer’s day, the Year 1 children were brimming with excitement as they boarded the coach for their educational visit to Southend.  As the coach arrived at the destination, the children eagerly awaited to depart and explore the beach. During the exploration the children were able to take photographs using the iPads and tell their group leaders what they could see, hear, touch and smell.
After exploring the beach, it was time to enter the sea life aquarium. With wristbands in place, the children entered the dark tunnels class by class. ‘’Are we going to see any penguins?’’ one of the children asked. Unfortunately there were no penguins inside but the children were not disappointed. They were amazed by the huge array of underwater sea creatures on offer and even got to touch live crabs and a starfish.

A fantastic day was had by all.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help out on the trip.
